DEAD SPACE 2

dead space 2 was released in 2011 its horror action survival game  made by visceral games and sponsored by ea the game is about an engineer called Isaac Clarke and his fight for survival  and  his fight against dementia  that's slowly corrupting his brain  throughout the game its unsure whether all the necromorph attack are just his head being traumatised by all the horrible things hes seen in the first game or whether its all real.the game really gives you a survival instinct always making you jump and  pushing your against harder enemies all the time and new scenarios which makes it very enjoyable to play as well as it being a hard game it gives you lots of tools to play in your own way with several different types of weapons which are fully upgrade Abel.
at the begging of the game your start of waking in a straight jacket on a space ship and a man trying to help you get free an immediately you feel tension that something bad is going to happen and the man is brutality murdered and then your have to escape without the use of your arms with lots of mad things going on around which cause allot pressure to escape and minuver around the monsters and escape throughout the game you experience lots of different emotions because of the gripping and compelling  storyline with even some parts that are surprisingly sad when Friends who are trying ti help die or escape thanks too your help but most of the time there is allot of tension when a monster is coming towards and you have to tactically dismember its limbs to efficiently kill them while trying to use as little ammo as possible or walking down a corridor and little things might make you jump like gas pipes or pumping into something  or big things like in a tiny elevator and the lights turn of and you jump out your skin when a huge monster that looks like something out of the thing drops from the ceiling or a corpse which you thought was dead just reanimating it self when you get close.
also what really sets the atmosphere is the sounds like little screeches or screaming in the background sometimes no sound at all that makes you unconsciously hold your breath for something about to happen.

i really enjoyed playing it and highly recommend its because of  it awesome story line and realistic believable charters and boss fights with brilliant graphics and you can really tell that they've put a huge amount of time in designs the awesome landscapes  and flow in the game with amazing game play asetts.
i thing the game was influenced by thing like the thing and resendent evil

mist

the mist

mist a good old fashion Gorey monster movie when i saw the first monster or the tentacles of the monsters i was abit worried about what the film was going to be like but as it went on i actually got into abit i dunno whether i was meant to find it funny but i did find it amusing a points
one of the best points of the films was properly the character development it really showed how people came out there shell and changed under presher and being scared and how the cult slowly formed and how hillbys were turned crazy and soldiers into depression and the scary cult leader who Finlay died to name a few i thought the storyline was not to bad i just thing some of the acting let it down the main properly fault for me because i coudent help but notice was the poor cgi i mean the designs of the creature's wernt bad they properly just dint have a high ought budget i was abit taken aback by the ending because i said that would happen 10 seconds before as a joke i think if they ed of survived or all died would of been better but i think it might be worth reading the original novel because i think it would of been more atmospheric and sad i was taken aback by the ending but after thinking about it abit more i dont think it was as bad as i thought
overall though i  did enjoy the film but i think the end could of been better

issues facing reviews can be from job loss to low pay the main problem it seems is they release to many magazine to fast and don't have time to really asses the games properly and look in detail or at least have big discussions on the game in hand so the writer can clear views from different perspective Ive noticed in several magazine like official xbox and most others for all consoles or PC magazine
that they seem to  just give out really high generic scores out willy nilly mainly 9 and 8 sort of like they ed rushed it ide would like to also hear the opinions of how they could improve the games or what they could maybe do in the next one or what they would like to see for example if i were to right about something like dead island i would say it was a relay interesting concept but needed allot of work on the combat system and punching rigging and for me if they really wanted to improve that they would make the game maybe third person or better combat.
im not sure a 100% than we even need to put a number on games i think its properly an easy most likely lazy way to find out if a games worth getting because you could easily just look at the scores instead of actual reading what the games about and what it has otherwise that's a very simple way for games magazine to rope people in to buy bad games because allot of game look very interesting and have very interesting concept but in realty there not very Good for example fallout awesome concept but bad game.
NGJ i don't really no what to think about new game journalism and on the one side i enjoy looking in to new games and hearing what other people have to say but on the other hand by reading the journalist on the web like kieron gillen they all seem to be just about the money and turning out half decent review as fast as possible but i did like what kerion said "Mag’s offline abilities and toilet-based brows ability are one thing, clearly. The second traditional reason is that they’re mostly – and there’s exceptions, clearly – hugely better written. If you want a little entertainment with your information, mags are where to turn" which i think for me is properly right because i enjoy reading the magazine and looking at in game photos and occasionally conceptual art also like reading about the in game interfaces but alternately you can find reviews online from website like ign that also you can find videos about the games on website and dashboards on console games online where they talk about the games and answer questions that people send in

360 gamer my personal choice for gaming magazines because i think they give realistic reviews and good information about games

i find it hard to really remember the first game that i ever played but the one that impacted me the most was properly Abe's Odyssey releases in 1997 on ps1 developed by oddworld inhabitants the game was about a race called the mudcons particular Abe who worked/slave  for ruptor farms that develop a new type of food called new and tasty until he finds out mudkons are goin to be the main ingredients and then games is about trying to rescue all the slaves and  i think this was so memorable because of the storyline and the humour and it was a very atmospheric game in the cut scenes  but it was still light enough to really enjoy as kid i still find his catch frases funny and the way he says them  for the time it was a very interactive game because u had to communicate with the slaves to be able to complete the mission like stay here and follow me which i found very funn at the time because u could tell the slaves to stand somewhere where they shouldn't just see them explode or get shot or die in several amusing ways and the chunks of them would bounce of the screen almost like 3d .
i think if similar games were to progress in the  future they would become even more interactive having the hole world around you change to this big character decision ide like for games to become more interactive not nessiarily like kinect or wee i still enjoy lazy games like console and PC maybe just more in the game like glasses or screens that surround you and immerse your in the game .in the future ide love for them to make another odd world games where your have to talk maybe to rescue slaves or Friends .ide also love to see on the other side of spectrum a game like mass effect being fully immerse where your in the game walking around running shooting like an army simulator without having to leave your home or feel any pain just controlled by your brain

lock stock and two barrels smoking barrels

lock stock and two barrels smoking barrels

its a film about 4 working class lads who put all there money together to put in to a big money card
game and they owe half a million to a very dangerous man who already has it out for them
and they have to try get the cash back to him in a week or they start loosing fingers a day
i enjoyed the film i thought it was very witty and fast passed allot of the film i  was just laughing because i  no idea whats going on just really funny twist i thought the acting between the 4 main guys  was very funny and throughout the film the script was sometimes hard to know what they were saying with there London slang  but some very witty lines came out of it  i thought the plot was very interesting  how they all interconnected was very good and i thought you could almost predict what was going to happen but then the opposite would happen in a big bloody mess i think what helped with the humour was the sound tracks  sort of cheesy but up beat songs i thought some of the actors wernt very good though they looked abit hesitant and awkward like they ed forgot there line but overall it wasn't to noticeable i enjoyed Vinny Jones just annihilating everyone as well even thoughg his acting isn't very good

the middle of history computer games

the middle history of computer games

1980s was massive period of time for gaming history this is when games slowly started to get more money behind them also the RISE OF NINTENDO gumpei yokoi invented the game virtual boy one my favourite hand held consoles which since then i got an emulator for my PC so i could play Pokemon he also worked famicom on the metroid series which was for me a massive influence in designs and has now turned into a huge game that for me peaked when prim got onto smash brother's but i always love metroid prime also one of the first games where you could play first and third person.
also single player games became huge especially first person shooter games which developed to big multiplayer fps like doom in 1993 which is one of the biggest games ever  but online multiplayer games dint come till the 1990 even tho they had the technology to do in the 1980s on something like a commodor 64 i think its because when games were still on the way up they were single player games that u would properly sit on your own and play in your own homes compared 2 big machines in arcades youed play with your Friends.
for me what really made the golden age (1980) special was games like legend of Zelda and the ocarina of time and the first castlevani with have both turned into huge games i especially like the newest castlvani graphic improved by 1000 percent in only 20 to 30 years also of course they finally made resident evil and metal gear which are both massively influences on several games i can still see
amazing games my favourite being 7an 8 and 9 final fansty is different because i think where as i liked to see more mgs to carry on the storyline where i wish they'd stop realising final fansty because everything they do is the same for me anyways.
the 1990s was the invaiton video gaming It was a the big transition from raster graphics to 3D graphics and sprouted lots of diffrent genres like real time strages, mmo and more
the 1990s was also a big decade for epic megagames now epic games who have recently realside one of my favorite serous and one of the most inotive and well built seris gears of war
also the sega mega drive the did very well and lifted of some massive charters like sonic and mario very diffrent style of games to what epic produce but both work well for ive always liked more serius games persnaly even when i was younger i liked stuff like mortal combat even thow my mother dint know i had beacuse it was to violent
a big seller also was alone in the dark an orignal horror game  that set the standars for alot of other horrors which changed the way alot games built horror games

1996 id software allowed them to build QUAKE which was massive for me and online multiplayer game simliar to things like halo but darker in highschoool nearlyy every lesson would end in everyone playing quake 1 online in the class but the lab computers wouldent hold it so everyone would redowload in every lesson the game was really interesting i think it was almost as bigger influence on games as doom for me u can really see how game like unreal tournament and gears of war have been influenced by these games by the massive gun and futuristic elements and and big beefy characters .
for me games that have been my biggest influence to my own work were in the 80s even thought i wasn't born then they still made a big impact on what kind of things i enjoy

history of computer games part two

history of computer games part two

1980s beging of arcades and the end in 1980 the amzing game space invaders came out on the atari
moving on from spacewar in the 70s came space invaders even more futuristic but i can see how the influences went on , atari a very renown games concsole at the time that in 1982 released the atari 5200 wich had great games that have evolved massivly since like donkey kong and mario to name a few
also another massive game in the 1980 resleaswed by namco is PACMAN  which is one of my all time favourite arcade games if i ever walk past one in an arcade i always have to have a quick go i even downloaded it to my phone  but pacman was a huge influence in game coulture and in my opinon a big landmark in games history aswell as spaceinvaders
